emily draper

( Wait, who? )

Emily (she/her) is a queer, Brooklyn-based writer and director who creates work that’s whimsical and weirdly honest.

She specializes in commercial work in the personal care, grooming, and women’s health categories. After ten years in the advertising world, she brings an elevated approach to direct-to-consumer video that bravely asks, “what if this infomercial was actually really fun?”

In her narrative work, Emily specializes in girly indie comedies. She combines her sketch comedy background (UCB Theater, Edinburgh Fringe Festival) with production know-how and commercial polish to create films that balance cringe comedy and a strong aesthetic point-of-view.

Her debut short film, Sorority Court, premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival and went on to screen at festivals across the country. Her latest pilot project, Farther Along, is set to premiere in Spring 2026.
